As I sit here in the middle of a mini-vacay with my yin to my yang, my incredible husband Roy, who celebrates his birthday on September 21 (while mine’s today!), I can’t help but reflect on the one word that defines this moment: grateful.
Today, I’m filled with gratitude for every mishap, wrong decision, and even the wrong people. Without them, I wouldn’t have learned how to correct course, be more mindful, and appreciate the value of the right path. I’m grateful for all of those bumps because they led me here, to a place of growth and understanding.
I’m endlessly thankful for my family—my ultimate support system. We may have new homes, new circles of friends, or new businesses, but nothing can replace the bond and love of those who stand by you. First, to my mama, for the life, music and the talent you have given me, I am grateful.
To my husband Roy, my rock and constant support, I couldn’t do any of this without you. You’ve been by my side through every challenge, and for that, I’m beyond grateful. To my three boys, Bookie, Jaden, and Bluey—you’ve grown to help with the family business, and I could not be prouder of the men you are becoming.
I’m also incredibly grateful for my small but mighty circle of friends. Most of them go way back to when we were kids, and though we may be few, we’re strong. We cut out the negative chatter and show up for each other when it matters most.
And, to my small team of 16 and growing—thank you for being the dependable backbone throughout these years. We are definitly in it to win it and graciously so.
To my boss and partner, Chad—thank you for standing strong and continuing to push us toward our goals. We’ve been on this journey for over 20 years, and I want you to know that I am right here with you, every step of the way, as we continue to fight and work towards everything we’ve set out to achieve. Together, we’ve come a long way, and I’m truly grateful and envious of your strength.
As I step into this next chapter of life, I aim to mentor more, express my gratitude more, and give more generously. Success isn’t just a destination; it’s a mindset, and I truly believe that the journey is the reward.
Here’s to a future filled with gratitude, growth, and endless possibilities. For me, this... is success.
