There are no excuses for failure
Raffy's short story and the reason you can't succeed is because of.. you.
Raffy, a good friend of our family and one of the best musician drummers in the Philippines suffered a stroke in the pre-era of Covid-19 2020. He was one of the most idolized musicians, but first and foremost, a doting husband and father to four beautiful kids, one of which is a rising bassist musician, Marcus. At that point in time, they say it’s unlikely that he will recover fully.
His beautiful wife, also a very good friend, a superstar vocalist, Janice, never in her wildest dreams thought of giving him up amidst all these speculations. It was a very tumultous period for the two of them and their family. One of them was fighting for his life and another was fighting fiercely alongside him. Never resting. Never having these thoughts with the finality that life is over but for Raffy and his family, it has just started.
And last Feb. 18, we were awash with joy, happiness and a sort of, unsung accomplishment. Raffy joined us on our Taboan stage at Matina Town Square, where all musicians in Davao converge time and time again.
It just dawned on me that whenever you say, never, you are but one step behind of whatever it is you want to accomplish, reach or achieve. And clearly, never is not in Raffy and Janice’s vocabulary.
